About the Machine
Our MTAB machines are our CNC (computer numerical control) mills and lathes. These machines are mainly used on metal. The lathe is used for making cylindrical shapes and the mill is a three access CNC machine that focuses on metal.
We have one MTAB mill and one MTAB lathe at the SHU IDEA Lab.
Specifications
MTAB Mill: The mill has a table size of 18.9″ x 7.1″ and can handle a maximum weight of 88 pounds.
MTAB Lathe: The lathe has a manual/pneumatic chuck, which is 3.9″. The maximum turning length is 7.5″ and the maximum size for the turning dial is 3.2″.
