In this training, you will learn how to safely operate the Formech Thermoformer and how to create simple molds. Once this badge is earned, you are able to use the machine during open use hours with an IDEA Lab facilitator present in the room.
To pass this training you will need to watch all provided videos, complete a quiz, and do a hands-on test at the IDEA Lab to receive the Thermoforming Basics Badge.

Here find all the information that a trained user would want to find fast as a reminder. Please use photos as much as possible when applicable
The Formech takes 15 minutes to heat up before it can be used. Always make sure the machine is still heating up and does not shut itself off.
The plastic that is provided by the SHU IDEA Lab takes 120 seconds to be fully formed, which can be viewed on the machine’s screen.
